Airport City to inaugurate Magnetic MRO’s new aircraft maintenance hangar – one of the region’s most significant aviation developments
On 21 January 2026, a new Magnetic MRO aircraft maintenance hangar complex will be officially opened in Airport City’s southern area, further strengthening the position of Tallinn Airport and Airport City as an international aviation and business hub. The project is one of the largest and most technologically complex aviation developments completed in Estonia in recent years.
The hangar complex, developed as part of Magnetic MRO’s expansion, consists of three separate hangars with a total area of approximately 10,000 m². The new facilities have been designed specifically for aircraft maintenance and repair operations and comply with international aviation standards. The hangars are equipped to service larger aircraft types and feature specialised aircraft maintenance platforms, including tail docks, wing docks and access ladders. The complex allows for the simultaneous full maintenance of up to three commercial aircraft.
With this new development, Magnetic MRO now operates a total of approximately 30,400 m² of space at Tallinn Airport, making it the airport’s largest and one of its most strategically important business clients.
According to Veiko Keerberg, Chairman of the Management Board of Airport City, the project represents a landmark step in the development of the business district: “The completion of the Magnetic MRO hangars is a major milestone for Airport City. This development clearly demonstrates our ability, together with our partners, to deliver complex and highly specialised solutions that support the growth of the aviation sector and create long-term value. Importantly, the project design and supporting infrastructure also allow for the rapid addition of new hangars in the future, should growing aviation needs require it.”

Riivo Tuvike, Chairman of the Management Board of Tallinn Airport, highlighted the broader impact of the expansion: “Magnetic MRO is a key strategic partner for Tallinn Airport. The new hangar complex strengthens the airport’s role as an international maintenance and service hub and makes a significant contribution to achieving Tallinn Airport’s long-term strategic objectives.”
Construction was carried out by NOBE, whose Board Member and Construction Director, Priit Nigols, described the project as an exciting engineering challenge: “The aircraft maintenance hangar complex was both technically demanding and highly engaging, allowing our team to fully apply its expertise and know-how. We genuinely appreciated the opportunity to work with a strong and professional group of partners – cooperation with Airport City and Magnetic MRO was built on trust throughout, and I believe the result speaks for itself.”
“Capability alone is not enough — what truly matters is how you use that capability,” said Jan Kotka, CEO of Magnetic MRO, part of the Magnetic Group. “The additional capacity at our Tallinn facility allows us to increase the volume of critical maintenance work, integrate more digital and data-driven solutions, and deliver the services our customers expect, while raising the standard in terms of speed, transparency, and overall cost efficiency.”
The total investment in the hangar complex amounted to €13.9 million. The development was financed with the support of a green loan from OP Corporate Bank Estonia, confirming the project’s compliance with sustainable development principles. The building has been designed in accordance with LEED Silver certification requirements and is equipped with a 150 kW solar energy system.
Magnetic MRO’s presence and continued expansion support the development of Airport City as a fully functioning aviation and logistics hub, contributing to regional economic growth and strengthening Tallinn Airport’s role within the international aviation network.
The official opening will take place on 21 January 2026 in Airport City’s southern area.
